Dawn Leopardi
I love how observing nature can activate an experience of awe, contemplation, playfulness, and imagination. My artwork is inspired by these encounters in the natural world.

It's magical to create. Creating in my own voice using rocks and their diverse color, texture, and patterns is enchanting.

Robin Whatley
Visiting Artist. September - October 2024. Robin's work examines old print ads like an archeological artifact of our ancestors. The nameless figures inked into aged pulp of 1960’s magazines are carefully rescued from the dehumanizing old Madison Ave world and safely released into a vivid and futuristic landscape.

Patti Barry Levy
Visiting Artist. June - August 2024. By layering multiple images I am able to delve into the realm of imagination. My photomontages are made up of photographs taken on travels near and far, along with scans and studio setups of objects I’ve found. Research can lead me to vintage illustrations that contribute to the resulting narrative. I am excited to be working in a very contemporary way, using my camera as the starting point in the construction of visual stories.

Terra Marks
Visiting Artist. June - August 2024. “My constant awe for nature inspires not only the subject of my art, but the very materials in which I use to create it. I give new life to discarded and natural objects as I make new with old. My creations reflect the ever-present delicateness and resilience of the natural world, the beauty and the playful whimsy.”

Laura McElfresh
Co-op Artist. April 2022 - May 2024. I’ve always experimented; through that exploration I found Batik. The Batik process is traditionally done on fabric with dyes and hot wax. I combine the traditional process with contemporary encaustic tools and water-soluble pigments to create batik paintings on rice paper.

Common Ground
March 1 - 31, 2024. Polished Earth artist Dawn Leopardi curated a group show of earth-inspired collaborative artworks (2D and 3D) with printmaking as the common ground.
“What happens when you challenge a handful of artists to each pair up with another artist to create works that incorporate a form of printmaking and nature imagery? … And then cut them loose?”

Lauri Dunn-Peterson
Visiting Artist. October - December, 2023. I transform images of insect wings into meditative, modern photographs and photo sculptures. The reconstructed photographs emphasize the insect’s original attributes such as pattern, color and symmetry. The final pieces are often so abstracted that one is left to imagine another object entirely.
-
Alyssa Jordan
Visiting Artist. June - August, 2023. Each piece has been lovingly made in Denver, Colorado using slow, bespoke methods; designed to be worn close to you for years to come.
-
Caitlin Zeller
Co-op Artist. May 2022-May 2023. I’m inspired by the intricate details and diversity found in the natural world, and in awe of how often its beauty is overlooked. I draw attention to those elements which are so often taken for granted and undervalued encouraging viewers to stop and linger.
-
Amanda Pehrson
Co-op Artist. May-December 2022. Amanda creates artful, timeless and dainty artwork designed sustainably with nods to art deco, tarot, geometry and minimalism.
-
Melissa Belmar
Visiting Artist. July - Sept 2022. I look at jewelry making as something for me; an outlet for creative expression and a way to use my mind in a different way than I typically do for my science-based job.
-
Susan Dillon
Visiting Artist. May - July 2022. Susan Dillon combines fabric, fibers, stitch and found objects into 2d & 3d pieces, as well as wearable art, examining the connection and interaction between emotion and the physical world.
